Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide high-quality critical care to oncology/BMT ICU patients, delivering total care including turning, dressing changes, and trach care
• Manage ventilator-dependent patients and BiPAP patients with careful ventilator management and assessment
• Titrate continuous drips safely and accurately while monitoring hemodynamic status and supporting A-line management
• Operate and troubleshoot CRRT and IV pump therapies in collaboration with the interdisciplinary team
• Document thoroughly and timely in Meditech EMR to ensure continuity of care and compliance
• Communicate effectively with physicians, families, and team members to coordinate complex care plans
• Support unit staffing and float across ICUs, PCU, and BMT as needed while maintaining patient safety and ratios

Qualifications

• Active RN license (Texas or compact) and current, unrestricted nursing status
• ACLS and BLS certifications (required)
• Minimum 1 year of ICU experience (experience with oncology/BMT preferred)
• Proven experience with ventilator management, drip titration, and critical care nursing
• CRRT experience and transplant (kidney, pancreas, liver) experience are preferred
• Comfortable using Meditech EMR and common ICU equipment (IV pumps, Flow-track)

Education

• Nursing degree (ADN or BSN preferred) and active RN license

Knowledge & Skills

• Ventilator management and BiPAP care
• Continuous Renal Replacement Therapy (CRRT)
• Hemodynamic monitoring/A-line skills and drip titration
• Trach care and total care for critically ill patients
• Familiarity with IV pumps and Flow-track monitoring
• Experience documenting in Meditech EMR
• Strong teamwork, communication, and ability to build rapport with physicians
