Roles & Responsibilities

• Lead and mentor the Specialty Clinic team to improve patient flow, quality, and safety
• Optimize staffing, scheduling, and referral coordination in partnership with operations leaders
• Standardize workflows to reduce wait times and improve the overall patient experience
• Monitor clinic metrics (flow, access, quality indicators) and drive continuous improvement initiatives
• Ensure regulatory and Joint Commission readiness through policy, process, and competency oversight
• Oversee recruitment, orientation, annual competencies, and professional development for nursing and clinic staff
• Address employee relations and operational issues promptly and collaboratively
• Manage supplies, recommend equipment purchases, and support special projects to enhance clinic services

Qualifications

• Minimum 5 years of varied RN experience, including at least 1 year in ambulatory care
• At least 2 years of supervisory or managerial experience in healthcare
• Active, unrestricted RN license in Alaska or ability to obtain Alaska license within 6 months
• Current BLS certification required
• Clinical Competency and Manager Competency to be completed within 3 months of hire (and recurring per policy)
• Demonstrated strengths in team leadership, change management, and service excellence

Education

• Associate's degree in Nursing (required)
• Bachelor's degree in Nursing or related field (preferred)

Knowledge & Skills

• Solid understanding of the nursing process and clinical assessment
• Experience with quality improvement and patient safety practices
• Familiarity with infection control and Joint Commission readiness
• Ability to perform specimen collection and operate common medical equipment
• Proficiency with basic computer systems and clinic technology
• Strong verbal and written communication and customer service skills
• Effective leadership, conflict resolution, and staff development abilities
• Comfort managing multiple priorities in a fast-paced outpatient environment
