Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide safe, efficient perioperative nursing care in the operating room for orthopedic and trauma cases
• Collaborate closely with surgeons, anesthesiologists and OR team members to ensure smooth case flow
• Maintain sterile technique and uphold infection prevention standards throughout procedures
• Prepare and manage surgical instruments, equipment and supplies for a variety of OR cases
• Assess patients pre- and post-operatively and communicate changes to the care team
• Document care accurately in the EMR and participate in handoffs to ensure continuity

Qualifications

• Active Registered Nurse (RN) licensure (eligible to practice in Texas preferred)
• PeriOp 101 completion (explicit requirement)
• Experience in orthopedic and trauma operating room settings (must have)
• Minimum 1 year of RN experience (as listed in the posting)
• Comfort working 12-hour night shifts and participating in weekend/on-call coverage as needed

Education

• Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) or Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred

Knowledge & Skills

• Solid perioperative nursing practices and OR workflows
• Hands-on experience with orthopedic and trauma surgical procedures
• Sterile technique and instrument management
• Strong communication and teamwork skills in a fast-paced surgical environment
• Accurate EMR documentation and patient assessment skills
