Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide compassionate, patient-centered Med-Surg nursing care across the full shift, ensuring safety and comfort
• Assess, plan, implement and evaluate nursing interventions for adult medical-surgical patients
• Coordinate patient care and communicate effectively with interdisciplinary team members
• Monitor patient status, recognize changes, and respond promptly to acute needs
• Document patient care accurately in the electronic medical record and maintain clear handoffs
• Support and mentor peers to foster a collaborative, accountable unit culture
• Advocate for patients and families, ensuring their questions are answered and concerns addressed

Qualifications

• Current California RN license in good standing
• Nursing degree from an accredited school
• BLS certification required (maintain current credentials)
• Medical-Surgical nursing experience is a must
• Proven ability to communicate clearly in English, both verbal and written
• Comfortable using basic computer functions and electronic medical records (EMR preferred)
• Strong interpersonal skills with demonstrated conflict resolution and teamwork abilities

Education

• Nursing degree from an accredited school

Knowledge & Skills

• Medical-Surgical nursing practices and adult patient care
• Patient assessment, clinical decision-making and acute care interventions
• Basic computer skills and familiarity with Electronic Medical Records (EMR)
• BLS and emergency response fundamentals
• Clear verbal and written communication with patients, families and regulatory representatives
• Interpersonal skills that promote collaboration, conflict resolution and staff development
