Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide compassionate, high-quality medical-surgical nursing care to adult patients on a 21-bed unit
• Perform ongoing patient assessments, monitor telemetry, and respond to changes in condition
• Administer and manage epidurals, PCA pumps, chest tubes, and surgical drains with attention to safety
• Perform phlebotomy and blood glucose monitoring as part of routine care
• Document accurately and efficiently in the Meditech EMR to ensure continuity of care
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary team members to develop and execute patient-centered plans
• Assist with admissions, discharges, and patient education to promote recovery and reduce readmissions
• Support unit staffing needs, including floating to other medical-surgical areas when required

Qualifications

• BLS certification (required)
• Minimum of 1 year of Medical-Surgical (MS) experience (must have); job listing indicates ~2 years of experience overall
• Comfort and experience with telemetry monitoring and managing moderate-acuity adult patients
• Demonstrated ability to manage PCA, epidural care, chest tubes, and surgical drains
• Strong teamwork, communication skills, and a compassionate bedside manner
• Willingness to work a rotating night schedule and cover every-other-weekend shifts
