Shift Type: Night shift, 12-hour nights, 7:00 PM - 7:00 AM; specific days to be discussed (weekend frequency to be determined during scheduling)
Hours per Week: 36
Candidate Pay Rate: $54 per hour

Roles & Responsibilities
- Provide compassionate, evidence-based nursing care to laboring and post-partum patients
- Monitor fetal status, interpret fetal heart tracings and act promptly to ensure patient safety
- Collaborate with obstetricians, anesthesiologists and the care team to coordinate deliveries and emergent interventions
- Educate patients and families on labor progress, pain management options and newborn care
- Document assessments, interventions and outcomes accurately in Meditech
- Advocate for patients and support a positive birth experience with excellent communication and bedside manner
Qualifications
- Active RN license (Texas or compact RN accepted — confirm during onboarding)
- Minimum 2 years of recent Labor & Delivery nursing experience
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification; specialty certifications relevant to L&D encouraged
- Comfortable using Meditech or similar electronic documentation systems
- Strong assessment, critical thinking and communication skills
Education
- Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) required; Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred
Knowledge & Skills
- Proven Labor & Delivery clinical skills and fetal monitoring competency
- Ability to manage obstetric emergencies calmly and effectively
- Experience with Meditech documentation and electronic charting
- Excellent patient education and family-centered care approach
- Teamwork, adaptability and good time management on 12-hour shifts
