Candidate Pay Rate: $55 per hour

Roles & Responsibilities
- Provide compassionate, high-quality nursing care to medical-surgical and trauma patients on a 34-bed unit
- Monitor and interpret telemetry and EKG data to detect changes in patient condition
- Administer medications and blood products safely and document administration accurately
- Manage complex wounds and use wound vac therapy as needed
- Care for patients with tubes and drains including NG, PEG, feeding tubes, and chest tubes
- Perform thorough assessments and handoffs to ensure continuity of care
- Document all care in the Meditech EMR clearly and promptly
- Collaborate with physicians, techs, and interdisciplinary staff to create effective care plans
- Support unit workflow and patient flow during night shifts and assist with admissions and discharges
Qualifications
- Active RN license (required)
- BLS certification (required)
- Minimum 2 years of clinical nursing experience with Medical-Surgical experience
- Telemetry experience preferred; trauma experience a plus
- Comfortable with 12-hour night shifts and every other weekend rotation
- Strong clinical judgment, excellent communication skills, and a team-player attitude
Knowledge & Skills
- Proficiency with Meditech EMR for charting and documentation
- Telemetry monitoring and basic EKG interpretation skills
- Wound care management including wound vac experience
- Safe administration of blood products
- Pain management strategies and assessment
- Care of tubes and drains including chest tubes
- Familiarity with common unit equipment such as bladder scanners, Hoyer lifts, and pulse oximetry
- Ability to work effectively in a 5-6:1 patient ratio environment
