Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide expert vascular surgery and endovascular care, including aneurysm repairs and peripheral interventions
• Perform carotid artery stenting, bypass procedures including aortofemoral bypass, and endovascular reconstruction
• Manage vascular access procedures including AV shunt placement and hemodialysis access
• Deliver open surgical reconstruction for deep vein occlusions and treat lymphedema when indicated
• Cover night call on weekends, triage acute vascular emergencies and coordinate care within a Level 1 trauma environment
• Document patient care accurately and efficiently in Epic
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams including ICU, interventional radiology and dialysis staff to optimize outcomes
• Provide clear communication to patients and families about procedures and post-operative plans

Qualifications

• MD or DO (or equivalent medical degree)
• Fellowship-trained, board certified or board eligible in Vascular Surgery or equivalent surgical vascular training
• Demonstrated experience in vascular and endovascular procedures: aneurysm repair, carotid stenting, bypass surgery, stenting and deep vein reconstruction
• Experience with vascular access devices and hemodialysis access
• Comfortable working in a Level 1 trauma center and managing adult and geriatric patients
• Proficiency with Epic or ability to adapt quickly to Epic documentation
• Valid medical license or eligibility to obtain licensure to practice in Ohio (locum credentialing completed prior to start)

Education

• MD or DO (or equivalent clinical doctorate)

Knowledge & Skills

• Advanced endovascular and open vascular surgery techniques
• Acute vascular emergency recognition and management
• Vascular access device placement and maintenance for dialysis patients
• Perioperative patient management in high-volume OR settings
• Effective use of Epic for operative notes, orders and documentation
• Team leadership and interdisciplinary coordination in a hospital setting
• Ability to manage a busy caseload (average number of cases per day noted as 10)
