Roles & Responsibilities

• Deliver high-quality, patient-centered care for PCU patients, including cardiac and post-surgical cases
• Perform continuous telemetry monitoring and respond promptly to changes in cardiac rhythms
• Administer and titrate cardiac drips safely (e.g., Cardizem, Amiodarone, Primacor, Dopamine) per unit protocols
• Collaborate with physicians, advanced practice providers, and the multidisciplinary team to develop and implement care plans
• Educate patients and families about diagnoses, treatments, and discharge plans to support recovery
• Document assessments, interventions, and patient responses accurately in the patient record
• Participate in unit-based quality improvement initiatives and uphold safety standards

Qualifications

• Active Registered Nurse (RN) qualification (RN - PCU specialty)
• Minimum of 2 years clinical experience (telemetry/PCU or similar high-acuity setting)
• Current ACLS and BLS certifications (must-haves)
• Proven telemetry experience and comfort interpreting cardiac rhythms
• Experience caring for cardiac and post-surgical patients and managing cardiac infusions
• Strong teamwork, time management, and communication skills

Knowledge & Skills

• Telemetry monitoring and interpretation
• Cardiac patient care and post-surgical care
• Experience with PCU workflows and patient ratios (4:1)
• Familiarity with cardiac drips and titration protocols
• Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment
• Strong teamwork and time-management abilities
• Basic life support (BLS) and advanced cardiovascular life support (ACLS)
