Shift Type: Friday-Sunday, 8:00 PM - 6:00 AM or 9:00 PM - 7:00 AM (Night shifts) with on-call and holiday rotation
Hours per Week: 40
Candidate Pay Rate: $56 per hour

Roles & Responsibilities
- Perform diagnostic radiographic, portable, C-arm and fluoroscopic procedures with attention to safety and image quality
- Position patients compassionately and accurately to best demonstrate the anatomic area of interest
- Select exposure factors and apply ALARA principles to minimize radiation exposure for patients and staff
- Operate imaging equipment and PACS, process images and ensure proper identification and quality control
- Document all procedure details, medication reconciliation and results in the electronic medical record
- Provide patient education and practical instruction to radiography students and new technologists
- Assist radiologists during fluoroscopic and special x-ray exams and prepare/assist with contrast media administration
- Participate in on-call and holiday rotations to support continuous patient care
Qualifications
- Graduate of an accredited School of Radiologic Technology
- ARRT Radiography registration (required)
- IEMA-DNS radiography accreditation required for practice in Illinois
- BLS/CPR (approved) — must obtain within 90 days if not current
- Minimum of 2 years of radiography experience
- Experience with portable radiography, C-arm, fluoroscopy and PACS/EMR systems
Education
- Graduate of an accredited School of Radiologic Technology
Knowledge & Skills
- Patient positioning and strong patient safety practices
- Radiation safety principles (ALARA) and exposure factor determination
- Image processing, quality control and proper image identification
- Proficiency with PACS, radiology information systems and electronic medical records
- Comfort assisting in OR/ED bedside imaging and handling mobile radiologic equipment
- Ability to prepare contrast media and assist in administration
- Teaching skills for student instruction and mentoring new technologists
- Coordination skills for scheduling and on-call coverage
