Roles & Responsibilities

• Assess and monitor behavioral health patients, recognizing changes in condition and responding promptly
• Develop and implement individualized nursing care plans focused on safety, stabilization, and recovery
• Provide therapeutic interventions and de-escalation using CPI Blue Card techniques when appropriate
• Administer medications and treatments safely, documenting care in the Meditech EMR
• Collaborate with the multidisciplinary team to coordinate patient-centered care
• Maintain unit safety and therapeutic environment, supporting a 1:8 patient ratio
• Deliver compassionate, respectful care that supports patients through difficult moments

Qualifications

• Active RN license (required)
• CPI Blue Card certification (required)
• CPR certification (required)
• Adult Specific Competencies completed (required)
• Minimum 2 years of RN experience (explicit requirement)
• At least 12 months of acute care experience within the past year (explicit requirement)
• Experience in behavioral health nursing and comfort working with adult psychiatric populations

Education

• Active Registered Nurse (RN) license

Knowledge & Skills

• Proficiency with Meditech EMR for clear, timely documentation
• Strong de-escalation and crisis intervention skills
• Excellent communication and soft skills to support patients and families
• Understanding of mental illness, behavioral health best practices, and therapeutic boundaries
• Ability to work effectively in a team-based, patient-centered unit
