Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide expert Labor & Delivery nursing care, monitoring patients throughout labor and delivery
• Interpret fetal monitoring strips and act quickly to support optimal outcomes
• Start IVs, draw labs, and manage IV therapy with confidence
• Perform vaginal exams and assist with vaginal deliveries and cesarean sections as needed
• Serve as OB circulator and scrub when required, supporting the surgical team in the OR
• Place and manage IUPC and FSE, and perform/assist with amniocentesis and amnioinfusion procedures
• Document care accurately and efficiently in CPN and Meditech EMR systems
• Educate and support patients and families with empathy, clear communication, and excellent bedside manner
• Respond to obstetric emergencies using NRP/ACLS protocols and collaborate with multidisciplinary teams

Qualifications

• Current RN (Registered Nurse) credential — RN title is required for this role
• Minimum 1 year of Labor & Delivery nursing experience (per job posting)
• Required certifications: BLS, ACLS, NRP
• Proven ability to start IVs, draw labs, interpret fetal strips, and perform vaginal exams
• Experience as an OB circulator and familiarity with assisting in C-sections preferred
• Comfortable with intrauterine device placements like IUPC/FSE and performing amniocentesis/amnioinfusion
• Ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced unit and rotate weekends

Knowledge & Skills

• Fetal strip interpretation and use of fetal monitoring equipment
• IV insertion, lab draws, and IV pump management
• IUPC and FSE placement and troubleshooting
• Assisting in cesarean sections and functioning as an OB circulator/scrub
• Experience with CPN and Meditech electronic medical records
• Strong time management, organization, and patient advocacy skills
• Compassionate communication with laboring patients and families
