Contract Type: Travel Contract
Shift Type: Rotating 12-hour day or night shifts (Day: 7:00 AM - 7:00 PM; Night: 7:00 PM - 7:00 AM). Schedule is 72 hours every two weeks (typically three 12-hour shifts across the two-week pay period); shifts may include weekends and occasional med/surg overflow assignments.
Hours per Week: 36
Candidate Pay Rate: $74 per hour

Roles & Responsibilities
- Provide high-quality critical care for adult ICU patients, including assessment, monitoring and timely intervention
- Manage ventilators, hemodynamic monitoring and complex medication infusions with precision and confidence
- Communicate effectively with physicians, multidisciplinary teams and families to coordinate patient-focused care
- Prioritize patient safety and infection control practices while maintaining accurate documentation
- Support patient throughput by assisting with transfers, discharges and appropriate escalation of unstable pediatric patients
- Step into charge nurse duties when assigned, leading the shift and supporting staff workflow and patient assignments
- Float to other departments as needed to support the unit without taking a full team of patients
Qualifications
- Active RN license in Hawaii or eligible to obtain state licensure prior to start
- PALS certification required
- Current BLS certification required; ACLS preferred or willing to obtain
- Minimum experience in adult ICU or critical care nursing (previous 12-hour shift experience highly valued)
- Comfortable working 12-hour shifts and managing variable patient ratios including med/surg overflow
- Strong clinical judgment, excellent communication skills and the ability to collaborate in a fast-paced environment
Education
- Graduate of an accredited nursing program (ADN or BSN)
Knowledge & Skills
- Expertise in critical care assessment and rapid response to changing patient conditions
- Skill with ventilator management, arterial lines, central lines and complex infusion titrations
- Proficient in interpreting hemodynamic data and trending patient parameters
- Ability to prioritize tasks, delegate when needed and manage shift flow
- Compassionate family-centered communication and patient education
- Adaptability to float briefly to other units to support patient needs
