Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide hands-on personal care following each patient’s plan of care, promoting dignity and independence
• Perform and accurately document vital signs (temperature, pulse, respirations, blood pressure) and report abnormalities promptly
• Support safe ambulation and transfers using proper positioning and transfer techniques
• Promote and protect skin integrity by following pressure injury prevention plans and reporting changes
• Maintain accurate, timely documentation in the patient record and Epic EMR
• Follow infection prevention and control policies to keep patients and staff safe
• Build compassionate relationships with patients and families and communicate changes to the nursing team
• Contribute to the interdisciplinary team to help achieve positive patient outcomes

Qualifications

• Active Michigan Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) license — must be active
• BLS (AHA) certification — required
• Minimum 2+ years of CNA experience
• Comfortable and competent using Epic and Microsoft Windows for documentation
• Travel experience and long-term care experience are highly preferred
• Two supervisory references from within the last two years and an up-to-date skills checklist
• Ability to commit to the assignment and coordinate housing prior to start
• Facility requires candidates to be non-local per the 100-mile rule (per submission requirements)

• Infection prevention and control practices
• Positioning, safe transfers, and ambulation assistance
• Pressure injury prevention and skin integrity monitoring
• Interdisciplinary communication and teamwork
• Comfortable using Microsoft Windows in a clinical setting
