Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide compassionate, family-centered care to neonates in the NICU
• Monitor and assess newborns continuously, interpreting clinical data and responding promptly
• Administer medications and therapies safely, following neonatal protocols and orders
• Collaborate closely with neonatologists, respiratory therapists, and multidisciplinary team members
• Maintain accurate and timely documentation in the electronic medical record
• Educate and support families, helping them understand their infant’s care plan and progress
• Participate in unit-based quality improvement and safety initiatives to improve outcomes

Qualifications

• Active Registered Nurse (RN) license — Texas license or compact privilege if applicable
• Minimum 1 year of NICU experience (as specified)
• Current BLS required; neonatal certifications (NRP) highly recommended
• Ability to work 12-hour night shifts and collaborate in a fast-paced neonatal environment
• Strong communication skills and a commitment to family-centered neonatal care

Knowledge & Skills

• Skilled in neonatal assessment and monitoring
• Experience with respiratory support and neonatal equipment
• Medication administration and infusion therapy knowledge
• Comfortable documenting in electronic medical records
• Excellent teamwork, critical thinking, and family communication skills
