Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide expert CVOR support as a scrub, circulator and surgical assistant to ensure excellent patient outcomes
• Operate and support DaVinci robotic procedures when assigned, maintaining sterile technique and safety
• Document perioperative care accurately in Meditech OR module to keep the team aligned
• Respond promptly and professionally to on-call and holiday cases to support the care team
• Collaborate with surgeons, RN staff and techs to optimize case flow in a busy 19-OR surgical services unit
• Maintain instrument and equipment readiness, including robotic systems and specialty trays
• Promote a positive team environment and participate in unit-based activities that support staff morale

Qualifications

• Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) credential required
• RNFA experience or demonstrated ability to function in circulator, scrub and assistant roles
• DaVinci robotic system training required
• Minimum 2 years relevant OR/CVOR experience
• Willingness to take call and holiday call where needed
• Must reside within 30 minutes of Henrico Doctors Hospital - Forest Campus or be able to relocate locally for the assignment
• Positive, flexible attitude and dependable work ethic

Education

• Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) certification required
• DaVinci robotic training required

Knowledge & Skills

• Proficient in Meditech EMR OR documentation
• Strong knowledge of CVOR procedures, sterile technique and instrument handling
• Experience with robotic-assisted surgery (DaVinci) and vascular/trauma specialties
• Excellent communication and teamwork skills in high-acuity OR settings
• Ability to prioritize and adapt during unpredictable case flow and urgent activations
