Shift Type: Rotating day shifts, 7:00 AM - 7:00 PM (day); rotating schedule includes required weekends — must work 4 weekend shifts in a 4-week period

Candidate Pay Rate: $42 per hour

Roles & Responsibilities
- Provide high-quality, patient-centered Med/Surg nursing care on a 42-bed unit
- Assess and monitor patients using telemetry and vital machines to ensure safety
- Initiate IV access and assist with procedures such as PICC placements and chest tube management
- Administer blood products, TPN, and medications including heparin safely and accurately
- Perform wound care and manage wound vacs to promote patient healing
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to coordinate post-op care and discharge planning
- Document care clearly and efficiently in the Meditech EMR to maintain continuity
- Support and mentor teammates, contributing to a positive unit culture
Qualifications
- Active Registered Nurse (RN) license (state of practice required)
- BLS certification (required)
- ACLS preferred — a plus if you have it
- Minimum 1 year of nursing experience (Med/Surg experience preferred; 2 years preferred by unit)
- Comfortable working with telemetry, IV therapy, PCA/epidural pumps, and wound vacs
- Outgoing, team-oriented attitude and willingness to give 110%
Knowledge & Skills
- Meditech EMR experience
- Telemetry monitoring and interpretation
- IV access initiation and management
- Wound care and wound vac management
- Experience assisting with PICC lines and chest tube care
- Infusion of blood products, TPN administration, and heparin management
- Familiarity with BiPAP, kangaroo pumps, epidural PCA, and blood warmers
- Strong communication, critical thinking, and teamwork skills
