Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide high-quality perioperative nursing care for patients across trauma, orthopedics, and neurosurgery
• Prepare operating rooms and ensure sterile technique and readiness for a variety of surgical specialties
• Collaborate closely with surgeons, anesthesiologists, CSTs, and the broader OR team to deliver safe outcomes
• Operate and support advanced OR technology, including robotic surgical systems when indicated
• Document patient care accurately and efficiently in Meditech EMR
• Respond quickly and calmly to trauma activations and emergent surgical needs
• Support charge nurse duties as needed to coordinate staffing and patient flow

Qualifications

• Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in the U.S. state of practice
• Minimum 2+ years RN experience caring for trauma, orthopedic, and neurosurgery patients
• Perioperative experience in the OR environment with competency in sterile technique
• CST national or military certification with 2+ years experience is listed as a must-have for CST roles
• Comfort with robotics-assisted surgery and familiarity with Meditech electronic charting
• Willingness to work as part of a team, be reliable, and take call when required

Education

• Active RN licensure (required)
• CST certification (national/military) for CST-qualified candidates (required where applicable)

Knowledge & Skills

• Proven knowledge of perioperative practices across multiple specialties (all except transplant and pediatrics)
• Skill using standard OR equipment and robotic surgical platforms
• Trauma response experience and the ability to manage 1:1 patient ratios
• Proficiency with Meditech EMR for documentation and communication
• Strong communication, teamwork, and time management in high-acuity settings
