Roles & Responsibilities
- Manage mechanical ventilation and ventilator settings for critically ill patients with confidence
- Perform ABG analysis and interpret results to guide respiratory interventions
- Provide noninvasive support including CPAP and BiPAP therapy
- Deliver respiratory treatments such as nebulizer therapy and chest physiotherapy (CPT)
- Document patient care accurately in the Meditech EMR and communicate findings with the care team
- Respond promptly to respiratory emergencies and collaborate with physicians and nursing for optimal patient outcomes
- Educate patients and families on respiratory care plans and equipment use
Qualifications
- Current RRT credential (Registered Respiratory Therapist)
- Required certifications: BLS, ACLS, NRP
- Minimum 2 years of acute care hospital RRT experience (per job posting)
- Experience with mechanical ventilation and ABG analysis
- Meditech EMR experience preferred; trauma experience preferred
Knowledge & Skills
- Mechanical ventilation and ventilator management (Servo, Hamilton, V60, Astral)
- ABG collection and interpretation
- CPAP/BiPAP therapy and noninvasive ventilation
- Nebulizer treatments and CPT techniques
- Familiarity with Meditech EMR workflows and documentation
- Strong critical thinking, teamwork, and patient-focused communication
