Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide high-quality, family-centered critical care to pediatric patients in the PICU
• Manage ventilators and advanced respiratory support, including BiPAP/high-flow and ventilator settings
• Perform and assist with intubation and extubation procedures safely and efficiently
• Titrate critical drips (sedation, vasoactive agents, paralytics) while monitoring hemodynamics
• Monitor telemetry/EKG/EEG and respond to changes in patient status
• Support sedated MRI procedures and ensure safe transport and monitoring
• Perform port access and discontinuation with sterile technique
• Document care accurately in Meditech and manage meds via Pyxis and Alaris IV pumps
• Collaborate with physicians, respiratory therapy, and multidisciplinary teams to create and execute care plans
• Educate and support patients' families through critical moments with compassion and clarity

Qualifications

• Active RN licensure (required)
• Minimum 1 year of pediatric ICU (PICU) nursing experience
• Current ACLS, BLS, and PALS certifications (required)
• Demonstrated experience with ventilator management, intubation/extubation, and titration of critical drips
• Comfortable with telemetry/EKG/EEG monitoring and sedated MRI procedures
• Experience using Meditech EMR, Pyxis, and Alaris IV pumps preferred
• Able and willing to float to NICU, Nursery, or OB/GYN areas if needed

• Pediatric critical care principles and best practices
• Ventilator management and advanced airway skills
• Medication safety for vasoactive and sedative infusions
• Telemetry and cardiac rhythm recognition
• Familiarity with Meditech EMR workflows and Pyxis medication systems
• Strong prioritization, multitasking, and situational awareness
• Excellent communication and family-centered care approach
• Ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team
