Shift Type: Rotating day shifts (includes every other weekend), 6:45 AM - 7:15 PM, day shift

Candidate Pay Rate: $51 per hour

Roles & Responsibilities
- Provide compassionate, high-quality emergency nursing care to diverse patients
- Rapidly assess and triage patients to prioritize lifesaving interventions
- Collaborate with physicians, techs, and unit staff to deliver seamless care
- Coach and give real-time feedback to colleagues to elevate team performance
- Document patient care accurately and efficiently in Cerner
- Operate and manage unit equipment such as Baxter pumps and GE monitors
- Participate in patient experience initiatives (AIDET, respectful communication)
- Support department flow and adaptability by floating to ED sections as needed
- Maintain vigilance for stroke and trauma protocols in this high-volume ED
Qualifications
- Active Registered Nurse (RN) licensure (state-specific or compact where applicable)
- Minimum 2 years of nursing experience, with at least 1 year in an ER setting
- Experience in a Level 2 trauma center, comprehensive stroke center, and/or high-volume ED preferred
- Current ACLS and BLS required before start
- PALS, TNCC, CPI, and NIHSS required before start; ENPC within 90 days of hire
- Strong teamwork mentality and demonstrated ability to coach and give feedback in real time
- Comfortable working in a fast-paced, multicultural environment and flexible to float within the ED
Knowledge & Skills
- Proficient with Cerner documentation and electronic charting
- Triage and rapid assessment skills for emergency presentations
- Experience with Baxter infusion pumps and GE cardiac/monitoring systems
- Strong situational awareness for trauma and stroke care
- Excellent communication, patient experience (AIDET) and de-escalation skills
- Ability to work efficiently in high-volume ED settings and adapt to changing priorities
- Team coaching, real-time feedback, and mentoring skills
