Shift Type: Rotating 12-hour day shifts, 9:00 AM - 9:00 PM; schedule set in 6-week blocks with varying days (exact days vary by schedule) and 3 call shifts required within each 6-week schedule
Hours per Week: 36
Candidate Pay Rate: $51 per hour

Roles & Responsibilities
- Provide expert post-anesthesia nursing care to recover patients safely and compassionately
- Monitor ventilated patients and manage ventilator settings in collaboration with the care team
- Assess and intervene for pediatric and trauma patients with confidence and calm
- Document patient progress accurately and efficiently in Cerner
- Collaborate with peri-anesthesia colleagues and float to Endoscopy, PreOp, or Phase II as needed
- Participate in on-call rotations and support continuity of care during your scheduled call shifts
- Advocate for patient experience improvements and contribute to a positive bedside culture
Qualifications
- Active RN licensure (able to practice in NC or obtain state licensure prior to start)
- Minimum 2 years of clinical nursing experience (PACU/peri-anesthesia experience preferred)
- Current BLS, ACLS and PALS certifications required
- Experience with NIH Stroke Scale assessments
- Advanced skill in ventilator monitoring and post-anesthesia patient management
- Comfortable working in a 1:2 patient ratio environment and using Cerner for documentation
Knowledge & Skills
- Strong post-anesthesia care and PACU workflows knowledge
- Competence with ventilator monitoring and airway management
- Familiarity with pediatric and trauma patient needs in a PACU setting
- Proficient documentation skills in Cerner
- Ability to perform NIH Stroke Scale assessments
- Excellent teamwork, communication, and patient advocacy skills
