Roles & Responsibilities

• Triage and assess emergency patients quickly and accurately to prioritize care
• Stabilize and treat acute conditions using evidence-based nursing practices
• Administer medications and treatments safely while monitoring patient responses
• Collaborate closely with physicians, techs and the interdisciplinary team to deliver coordinated care
• Document assessments, interventions and outcomes clearly in the patient record
• Provide patient and family education with compassion and clarity during stressful moments
• Participate in quality improvement and safety initiatives to improve ED outcomes
• Maintain readiness for high-acuity situations and support a culture of safety

Qualifications

• Active RN licensure (or ability to obtain NC licensure/compact privileges)
• Minimum 2 years of recent RN experience (emergency department experience strongly preferred)
• Basic Life Support (BLS) required; Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) preferred
• Current certifications and training as required by facility (trauma/TPN/triage training a plus)
• Ability to pass background check and required health screenings
• Strong critical thinking, prioritization and communication skills in high-paced settings

Education

• Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) required; Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred

Knowledge & Skills

• Emergency triage, rapid assessment and bedside stabilization
• IV insertion, medication administration and critical care monitoring
• Proficient documentation in electronic health records
• Ability to communicate clearly with patients, families and the care team
• Comfort working in a fast-paced, often unpredictable environment
• Teamwork, adaptability and calm decision-making under pressure
