Shift Type: Rotating nights, 2:45 PM - 3:15 AM (overnight coverage); scheduling includes every other weekend and must meet department needs

Candidate Pay Rate: $51 per hour

Roles & Responsibilities
- Provide high-quality emergency nursing care, triage patients, and prioritize care in a fast-paced ED
- Monitor cardiac status and other vital signs using GE monitors and manage Baxter infusion pumps with confidence
- Document patient care accurately in Cerner and maintain updated patient boards for excellent patient experience
- Coaching and mentoring peers in real time — help the team grow while keeping patients safe
- Float within all sections of the ED as needed, ensuring continuity of care across units
- Apply AIDET and respectful communication to keep patients informed and comforted throughout their visit
- Collaborate with techs, unit clerks, and interdisciplinary teams to maintain smooth unit operations
Qualifications
- Licensed Registered Nurse (RN) — title listed as RN on the posting
- Minimum 2 years' nursing experience with at least 1 year in an ER setting
- Requested: 2 years' experience in a Level 2 trauma center, comprehensive stroke center, or high-volume ED (>100,000 visits)
- Required certifications before start/on hire: ACLS, BLS, PALS, TNCC, CPI, NIHSS; ENPC required within 90 days of hire
- Teamwork mentality with ability to coach and give feedback in real time
- Willingness to work across all ED sections and cover every other weekend as scheduled
Knowledge & Skills
- Emergency nursing and triage expertise
- Patient monitoring and cardiac monitoring proficiency
- Strong Cerner documentation skills
- Experience with Baxter pumps and GE monitors
- Ability to work effectively in a high-volume, fast-paced ED
- Excellent communication, patient experience focus, and teamwork/mentoring skills
- Familiarity with stroke center processes and trauma center workflows
