Shift Type: Nights, 7:00 PM - 7:00 AM (12-hour night shift); specific days of week vary and will be confirmed with the team

Candidate Pay Rate: $77 per hour

Roles & Responsibilities
- Respond rapidly to acute clinical events as a member of the Rapid Response team
- Assess, stabilize, and coordinate care for CVICU patients during night hours
- Perform advanced cardiac monitoring and interpret hemodynamic data to guide interventions
- Collaborate closely with physicians, respiratory therapists, and unit staff to deliver safe patient care
- Document assessments, interventions, and handoffs clearly and promptly
- Provide compassionate education and support to patients and their families during critical moments
- Participate in unit quality improvement and patient safety initiatives
Qualifications
- Active Registered Nurse (RN) licensure in the state of practice or compact RN with ability to obtain NC licensure
- Minimum 2 years of recent CVICU or critical care experience (Rapid Response exposure preferred)
- Current BLS required; ACLS strongly preferred
- Demonstrated ability to work independently during night shifts and in high-acuity situations
- Up-to-date immunizations and travel nurse credentials as required
Education
- Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) required; Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred
Knowledge & Skills
- Advanced cardiac monitoring and dysrhythmia recognition
- Hemodynamic assessment and vasoactive medication familiarity
- Critical care nursing skills including ventilator basics and post-operative cardiac care
- Rapid response protocols and emergency stabilization techniques
- Strong clinical prioritization, triage, and communication skills
- Comfortable with electronic medical records and clear, concise documentation
