Roles & Responsibilities

• Circulate in the operating room to ensure patient safety and smooth case flow from pre-op through recovery
• Collaborate with surgeons, anesthesia, CSTs, and OR aides to coordinate equipment and supplies for each procedure
• Support robotics cases, including DaVinci-assisted procedures, by preparing instruments and anticipating team needs
• Document perioperative care accurately in Meditech to maintain clear patient records and compliance
• Advocate for patients and families, maintaining a 1:1 patient focus during perioperative care
• Adhere to sterile technique and equipment protocols for Stryker, Steris, Olympus, Zimmer, and Mizuho systems
• Adapt to unit needs by floating between Main OR, Endo, and outpatient areas while maintaining excellent care standards

Qualifications

• Active RN license in good standing (state licensure required for assignment)
• Minimum of 1 year of prior OR RN circulating experience required (posting also lists 2 years of experience as a general guideline)
• Current BLS certification required
• Hands-on experience or advanced skills with DaVinci robotics strongly desired
• Familiarity with perioperative procedures such as orthopedics, spine, urology, general surgery, GYN, bariatrics, podiatry, and endoscopy
• Comfortable using Meditech documentation system and common OR equipment platforms

Education

• Successful completion of an accredited nursing program (ADN, Diploma, or BSN)
• BSN preferred where available; must hold active RN license

Knowledge & Skills

• Perioperative nursing principles and circulating RN workflow
• Robotics (DaVinci) case flow and instrumentation support
• Proficiency with Meditech electronic documentation
• Experience with OR equipment brands such as Stryker, Steris, Olympus, Zimmer, and Mizuho
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills for multidisciplinary teamwork
• Ability to prioritize, anticipate needs, and maintain patient advocacy under pressure
