Roles & Responsibilities

• Assist residents with activities of daily living including bathing, grooming, dressing, and toileting with compassion and dignity
• Support safe mobility and transfers, using proper body mechanics and assistive devices
• Take and record vital signs accurately and communicate changes promptly to nursing staff
• Provide meal assistance and help with feeding as needed, ensuring resident preferences and safety
• Maintain clear, timely documentation in resident records and communicate observations to the care team
• Follow infection prevention protocols and maintain a clean, safe environment
• Engage residents with respectful, person-centered interactions that support emotional well-being

Qualifications

• Current GNA (Geriatric Nursing Assistant) certification or equivalent
• Prior experience working with geriatric or long-term care populations is preferred
• Current CPR/BLS certification preferred or required per facility policy
• Ability to pass background checks and meet facility onboarding requirements
• Strong communication skills and a caring, patient-centered approach

Education

• High school diploma or GED preferred

Knowledge & Skills

• Knowledge of basic resident care and ADLs
• Ability to measure and record vital signs accurately
• Safe lifting and transfer techniques
• Good observational skills to notice changes in condition
• Basic documentation and charting skills
• Teamwork and the ability to follow care plans and direction from nursing staff
