Roles & Responsibilities
- Provide compassionate personal care to residents, supporting dignity and comfort
- Assist residents with activities of daily living (bathing, dressing, grooming)
- Support mobility and fall-prevention efforts with safe transfer techniques
- Monitor residents' condition and promptly report changes to nursing staff
- Document care activities accurately and maintain clear communication with the team
- Help create a warm, respectful atmosphere that promotes residents' wellbeing
Qualifications
- Current Geriatric Nursing Assistant (GNA) certification (required)
- Previous experience caring for older adults preferred but welcoming to new GNA graduates
- Current basic health requirements (immunizations, TB screen) as required by the facility
- Clear background check and ability to pass facility on-boarding checks
- Strong communication skills and a collaborative, team-oriented attitude
Education
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred
- GNA certification required
Knowledge & Skills
- Understanding of geriatric care principles and dignity-focused assistance
- Familiarity with infection control and safe hygiene practices
- Basic vital signs observation and ability to report concerns clearly
- Good time management and the ability to prioritize resident needs
- Compassionate bedside manner and strong interpersonal skills
