Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide compassionate personal care and support to geriatric residents
• Assist with daily living activities including bathing, dressing and mobility
• Monitor and document residents’ condition and report changes to nursing staff
• Support mealtime needs and ensure residents receive appropriate assistance
• Maintain a safe, clean and comfortable environment for residents
• Build trusting relationships with residents and their families through respectful communication
• Follow care plans and contribute to a collaborative care team

Qualifications

• Valid GNA certification (required)
• Current CPR/BLS certification preferred or willingness to obtain
• Ability to pass background check and required health screenings
• Comfortable working with older adults and providing hands-on personal care
• Strong communication skills and a team-oriented attitude
• Previous experience in long-term care or geriatric settings is a plus

Education

• High school diploma or GED preferred
• Completed Geriatric Nursing Assistant program or equivalent certification

Knowledge & Skills

• Knowledge of geriatric care principles and common age-related conditions
• Safe patient handling and mobility assistance techniques
• Basic infection control and hygiene practices
• Accurate documentation and charting skills
• Ability to observe, recognize and report changes in resident status
• Good time management and the ability to prioritize resident needs
