Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide compassionate, hands-on care to geriatric residents, respecting dignity and independence
• Assist with activities of daily living including bathing, dressing, grooming, and mobility
• Monitor residents’ comfort and report any changes in condition to the nursing team
• Support mealtime assistance and safe feeding practices when needed
• Maintain accurate care documentation and communicate effectively with teammates
• Help create a warm, safe, and engaging environment for residents each shift

Qualifications

• Current GNA certification (required)
• CPR/BLS certification preferred or willing to obtain
• Comfortable working with older adults and assisting with ADLs
• Ability to pass background check and any required screenings
• Strong communication skills and a team-oriented attitude
• Previous experience in long-term care or skilled nursing preferred but new grads with GNA are welcome

Education

• High school diploma or equivalent
• GNA certification or state-equivalent credential

Knowledge & Skills

• Knowledge of geriatric care principles and common age-related conditions
• Skilled in safe transfer and mobility assistance techniques
• Basic charting and documentation skills
• Ability to follow care plans and communicate observations clearly
• Compassionate bedside manner and strong observational skills
