Roles & Responsibilities
- Provide compassionate personal care to geriatric residents, promoting dignity and comfort
- Assist with activities of daily living including bathing, dressing, grooming, and toileting
- Take and record vital signs, reporting any changes to the nursing team promptly
- Support safe mobility and transfers, using proper body mechanics and assistive devices
- Maintain accurate documentation and communicate clearly with team members and families
- Observe and report changes in condition, participating in care planning to enhance resident outcomes
Qualifications
- GNA certification (required) — your ticket for this role
- Current CPR/BLS certification preferred or as required by the facility
- Comfortable working with geriatric residents and providing hands-on personal care
- Ability to pass facility background check and required health screenings
- Strong communication skills and a collaborative attitude with care teams
- Reliable, punctual, and committed to resident safety and dignity
Education
- High school diploma or GED required
Knowledge & Skills
- Basic nursing assistant skills: bathing, feeding, toileting, and grooming
- Measuring and recording vital signs accurately
- Safe transfer and positioning techniques
- Infection control and hand hygiene best practices
- Clear, compassionate communication with residents and families
- Basic documentation and charting in facility systems
