Roles & Responsibilities
- Provide compassionate, dignified care to geriatric residents, focusing on comfort and safety
- Assist with daily living activities such as bathing, dressing, toileting, and mobility
- Monitor residents and report changes in condition to nursing staff promptly
- Help with meal setup, feeding assistance, and documentation of intake as needed
- Support therapeutic activities and engage residents to promote emotional well-being
- Maintain a clean, safe environment and follow infection control procedures
- Work collaboratively with the care team to support individualized care plans
Qualifications
- GNA certification (Geriatric Nursing Assistant) or equivalent required
- Current CPR/BLS certification preferred or ability to obtain upon hire
- Ability to pass background check and required health screenings
- Strong communication skills and a patient, respectful bedside manner
- Previous experience in long-term care or senior care settings is a plus
Education
- High school diploma or GED preferred
- Completion of an accredited GNA program or state-approved training
Knowledge & Skills
- Knowledge of basic geriatric care principles and patient safety practices
- Comfortable assisting with mobility and safe transfer techniques
- Ability to document observations clearly and accurately
- Basic infection control and PPE usage
- Teamwork mindset and the ability to follow direction from nursing staff
