Shift Type: Night shift, 12-hour nights, 7:00 PM - 7:00 AM; self-scheduled nights with weekend coverage (3-4 weekend shifts per 4-week period) and holiday rotation
Hours per Week: 36
Candidate Pay Rate: $60 per hour

Roles & Responsibilities
- Monitor telemetry and recognize dysrhythmias swiftly, acting according to unit protocols
- Perform neuro assessments and trend EEGs for epilepsy monitoring patients
- Maintain sterile field during procedures and complete SIMs Lab skills for Foley insertion and central line dressing changes
- Provide skilled MedSurg and telemetry nursing care for patients with brain tumors, TBI, subdural hematomas, and post-op scoliosis cases
- Collaborate with SWAT IV team, respiratory therapy, and pharmacy for comprehensive patient care
- Participate in lifts, restraint education, and wound care education to ensure safe patient handling
- Document care accurately in Cerner and communicate effectively with the interdisciplinary team
- Support unit needs such as charge coverage or resource RN duties when scheduled
Qualifications
- Current RN license, eligible to work in Arizona and willing to submit license documentation
- Minimum 2 years of nursing experience, with Level 1 trauma experience required
- Required certifications: BLS and ACLS
- Telemetry and dysrhythmia recognition experience required; must pass dysrhythmia exam prior to acceptance (two attempts permitted)
- Comfortable with EEG monitoring and epilepsy specialty care
- Ability to complete SIMs Lab skills (Foley catheter insertion and central line dressing changes) and maintain sterile technique
- Must have own vehicle for travel team assignments
- Professional appearance requirements: natural hair color, no facial piercings; men must be clean shaven for fit testing
Education
- Active RN license (required)
- BSN preferred but not required
Knowledge & Skills
- Strong neuro assessment skills, including cranial nerve checks and subtle change detection
- Telemetry monitoring and dysrhythmia recognition
- Experience with trend EEGs and epilepsy monitoring protocols
- Competency in sterile technique, Foley catheter insertion, and central line dressing care
- Critical thinking and quick patient assessment in acute care settings
- Familiarity with Cerner charting system
- Comfort working with ventilatory support (BiPAP) and collaborating with RT
- Ability to work autonomously on night shift and escalate to hospitalists/intensivists as needed
