Roles & Responsibilities

• Assess and provide compassionate, evidence-based care for medical and surgical patients
• Monitor patient telemetry and confirm monitor-read strips as needed
• Operate and respond to respiratory support equipment such as CPAP, BiPAP and hi-flow
• Chart accurately and efficiently in EPIC to maintain continuity of care
• Collaborate with the interdisciplinary team to coordinate safe patient discharges and transitions
• Float between med-surg populations, adapting quickly to different patient needs
• Act as a patient and family educator to support recovery and self-care
• Participate in unit-specific orientation and travel CBO to ensure smooth onboarding

Qualifications

• Active RN license eligible for North Dakota submission (compact license accepted where applicable)
• BLS certification required
• Minimum 2 years of medical-surgical nursing experience
• Experience with telemetry monitoring and monitor strip interpretation preferred
• Familiarity with EPIC charting system
• Comfortable with float pool duties and working night shifts
• Ability to pass facility background checks and required onboarding

Education

• Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) or Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) accepted; BSN not required

Knowledge & Skills

• Strong med-surg clinical assessment and critical thinking
• Telemetry monitoring and strip confirmation
• Experience with CPAP, BiPAP and hi-flow respiratory support
• Proficiency in EPIC charting and electronic documentation
• Good communication and teamwork skills for float and interdisciplinary work
• Ability to prioritize in a busy acute care setting
