Roles & Responsibilities

• Decontaminate instruments and equipment thoroughly to ensure patient safety
• Assemble instrument sets accurately and efficiently for OR procedures
• Perform sterilization processes and monitor sterilizers for quality assurance
• Execute scope reprocessing procedures following facility and manufacturer guidelines
• Support OR cases including ortho, general surgery, gynecology and GI with reliable sterile processing
• Respond to on-call needs within the established 30 minute response time
• Document sterilization and tracking activities in the charting system as required

Qualifications

• CRCST certification required
• BLS (AHA) required
• Minimum 2 years of sterile processing or related OR experience
• Ability to submit a valid driver’s license (radius requirement: 60 miles)
• Available to be in-state for the week of orientation
• Comfortable working in an OR-facing sterile processing environment and supporting GI cases

Education

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred

Knowledge & Skills

• Sterile processing and sterilization best practices
• Scope reprocessing techniques and decontamination workflows
• Instrument assembly and set management
• Familiarity with OR case types: orthopedics, general surgery, gynecology, GI
• Charting systems experience (EPIC noted for this facility)
• Experience with robotic platforms such as da Vinci is a plus
• Strong attention to detail and infection prevention principles
