Roles & Responsibilities

• Prepare the scan room and ensure equipment and supplies are ready for safe, efficient exams
• Screen patients for contraindications, explain procedures, and answer questions to reduce anxiety and improve cooperation
• Administer IV and oral contrast when indicated and follow safety protocols for contrast use
• Position patients accurately and select appropriate coils, restraints, and protocols to capture diagnostic-quality images
• Perform image acquisition, monitor exam quality in real time, and adjust parameters for optimal results
• Enter and verify patient data and image orientation to ensure studies are organized for radiologist review
• Review prior exams and clinical information to tailor imaging protocols and improve diagnostic yield
• Prepare and deliver complete exam records and communicate critical findings to the radiology team

Qualifications

• Active ARRT certification in MRI required
• Active American Heart Association BLS required
• Minimum 2 years of MRI technologist experience required
• Demonstrated experience with Siemens MRI systems required
• Associate degree in Radiologic Technology or related field required
• Current, accurate skills checklist (within 1 year) and 2 supervisory references completed within last 2 years
• Ability to provide a permanent address outside the facility's 50-mile radius (facility will not consider local candidates within 50 miles)
• Willingness to complete facility-specific onboarding and documentation at time of submission

Education

• Associate Degree in Radiologic Technology or related field

Knowledge & Skills

• Strong knowledge of MRI physics, safety and patient screening for contraindications
• Proficiency in IV contrast preparation and administration techniques
• Skill in patient positioning, coil selection, and use of restraints as needed
• Ability to set and modify scan parameters and acquire diagnostic-quality images
• Comfortable with entering and managing patient data and ensuring correct image orientation
• Experience reviewing prior exams and communicating with radiologists
• Good interpersonal skills for calming and instructing patients of all ages
