Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide exceptional med-surg and oncology nursing care — assess, plan, implement and evaluate patient care with compassion and precision
• Safely administer chemotherapy and follow strict chemo handling protocols (chemo-certified nurses only for hanging/handling chemo)
• Monitor and document vital signs per unit policy (typically q8h; q4h for remote/tele patients) and escalate changes promptly
• Use Meditech EMR to chart care, communicate with the team, and coordinate patient transitions
• Collaborate with the charge nurse, interdisciplinary team, and support staff to maintain 1:5 patient ratios and high-quality outcomes
• Support and mentor colleagues and new staff, sharing your med-surg and oncology experience to strengthen the team

Qualifications

• Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in the appropriate jurisdiction (required)
• Minimum 2 years of nursing experience with proven Med-Surg experience (required)
• Chemo certification (preferred) — required for chemotherapy administration
• ACLS certification (preferred)
• Experience with Meditech EMR is a plus
• Positive, team-oriented attitude and strong communication skills

Education

• Active RN license (Associate or BSN accepted; RN license required)

Knowledge & Skills

• Strong med-surgical nursing fundamentals and oncology care knowledge
• Competency in safe chemotherapy preparation, handling and administration
• Proficiency with Meditech electronic charting
• Ability to monitor and interpret vital signs and clinical changes
• Excellent teamwork, time management, and patient education skills
• Comfort working in a remote-tele environment and using mobile clinical communication tools
