Roles & Responsibilities
- Provide high-quality telemetry nursing care for adult patients, prioritizing safety and compassion
- Continuously monitor cardiac telemetry and identify/respond to rhythm changes promptly
- Administer and titrate medication drips and manage central lines with vigilance
- Care for post–heart cath and other cardiology recovery patients, including bubble studies
- Operate and troubleshoot PCA and IV pumps and manage chest tube care as needed
- Document assessments and interventions accurately using the Meditech EMR
- Collaborate with physicians, techs, and interdisciplinary teams to coordinate patient care
- Educate patients and families about condition, treatment plans, and discharge needs
Qualifications
- Active RN licensure (Kansas or compact state preferred) or ability to obtain prior to start
- Minimum 2 years of acute care or telemetry nursing experience
- Current BLS and ACLS certifications required
- Hands-on experience with telemetry monitoring and ECG interpretation
- Comfortable caring for patients with central lines, medication drips, chest tubes, and post–heart cath recovery
- Experience using Meditech or similar EMR strongly preferred
- Strong critical thinking, independence, and positive attitude for high-acuity care
