Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide high-quality med/surg and oncology nursing care for patients on the Medical Oncology unit
• Administer chemotherapy safely and in accordance with unit policies (chemo-certified nurses only)
• Monitor telemetry and remote-tele patients, perform and document regular vital signs
• Document patient care accurately in Meditech to ensure continuity and quality
• Collaborate with charge nurses, interdisciplinary teams and support staff to manage patient needs
• Mentor and support new team members to foster a positive, team-centered environment
• Observe and escalate changes in patient condition promptly to maintain patient safety

Qualifications

• Registered Nurse (RN) licensure (active) — required
• Minimum 2 years of nursing experience with Med/Surg background — required
• Chemotherapy certification — preferred (required to hang/handle chemo)
• ACLS certification — preferred
• Comfortable working in a remote-tele environment and managing telemetry patients
• Experience with Meditech or similar EMR systems — preferred

Knowledge & Skills

• Strong med/surg and oncology clinical knowledge, including chemo administration procedures
• Telemetry monitoring and interpretation skills
• Proficient documentation practices in Meditech
• Excellent teamwork, communication and patient advocacy skills
• Ability to function in a primary nursing care model with a 1:5 patient ratio
