Roles & Responsibilities

• Deliver compassionate, patient-centered nursing care on a Med-Surg unit, focusing on post-op burn and flap patients
• Perform wound and dressing care, including management of wound vacs and complex dressings
• Assess patients, monitor vital signs, and implement appropriate interventions to maintain patient safety
• Document all care accurately and efficiently in Meditech EMR to ensure continuity of care
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary team members including LPNs, PCTs, therapists, and physicians to optimize patient outcomes
• Assist with safe patient transfers using equipment such as Hoyer lifts and ensure mobility planning
• Provide patient and family education about wound care, recovery expectations, and discharge planning
• Respond to clinical changes and emergencies with calm, evidence-based interventions

Qualifications

• Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in Colorado or compact RN authorization
• Minimum 2 years of clinical nursing experience (Med-Surg experience preferred)
• Experience or strong interest in wound care and burn care is a plus
• Comfortable and experienced using Meditech EMR for documentation
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required; ACLS preferred or willing to obtain
• Ability to work 12-hour night shifts and function well in a fast-paced team environment
• Strong communication, critical thinking, and teamwork skills

Education

• Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) required; Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred

Knowledge & Skills

• Meditech electronic medical record proficiency
• Wound care techniques and familiarity with wound vac systems
• Safe patient handling techniques including Hoyer lift experience
• Medication administration and IV therapy competency
• Excellent patient assessment and clinical judgment
• Clear clinical documentation and time management
• Team collaboration and patient/family education skills
