Roles & Responsibilities

• Deliver compassionate, evidence-based nursing care to Med-Surg and post-op burn/flap patients
• Assess patient condition and develop individualized care plans that matter
• Perform wound and dressing care, including management for post-op burn and flap patients
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to optimize patient outcomes
• Safely operate and assist with equipment like Hoyer lifts and wound vacs
• Document care accurately in Meditech to ensure continuity and legal compliance
• Advocate for patients and communicate effectively with families and care teams

Qualifications

• Active Registered Nurse license (Colorado or compact preferred)
• Minimum 2 years of clinical nursing experience — Med-Surg experience required
• Comfortable with Meditech EMR and electronic charting workflows
• Experience or interest in wound care and burn care is a strong plus
• Current BLS certification; other certifications (e.g., ACLS) encouraged when applicable
• Team player with a positive attitude and strong patient advocacy skills

Education

• Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) or Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred

Knowledge & Skills

• Solid knowledge of Med-Surg nursing principles and post-op care
• Wound assessment and dressing change techniques, including wound vac management
• Safe patient handling including use of Hoyer lifts
• Ability to manage typical unit patient ratios (example: 6:1 with LPN support)
• Strong clinical judgment, critical thinking, and time management
• Clear, compassionate communication with patients, families, and team members
