Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide safe, compassionate perioperative and post-operative care to adult Med-Surg and surgical patients
• Perform thorough patient assessments and communicate changes promptly to the care team
• Administer medications and document accurately according to policy and best practices
• Collaborate with surgeons, anesthesiologists and OR staff to support emergent and elective procedures
• Maintain sterile technique and OR safety standards throughout procedures
• Educate patients and families about post-operative care and discharge planning
• Actively participate in unit-based initiatives to improve patient outcomes and workflow
• Support colleagues during high-acuity situations and assist with cross-coverage when needed

Qualifications

• Current, unencumbered Oregon RN license required upon submission
• Healthcare Provider BLS required
• AHA ACLS required
• NIHSS certification required
• Experience in Medical-Surgical nursing and Operating Room (OR) experience required
• Comfortable with emergent and elective surgery care and night shift/rotating weekend schedules
• Medical-Surgical Nursing certification strongly preferred

Education

• Active Oregon RN license (required)
• BSN preferred

Knowledge & Skills

• Strong patient assessment and monitoring skills for acutely ill adults
• Post-operative nursing care and wound management
• Medication administration and IV therapy competence
• Familiarity with OR protocols, sterile technique, and surgical team communication
• Ability to prioritize, triage, and respond effectively in emergent situations
• Good documentation practices and electronic charting skills
• Teamwork, clear communication, and patient education skills
