Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide high-quality bedside nursing care across Medical-Surgical, Cardiac Telemetry, Stroke/Neuro and Step-Down ICU settings
• Administer medications and treatments safely and in accordance with policy and state practice acts
• Develop, initiate and execute individualized patient care plans in collaboration with the care team
• Continuously monitor telemetry and recognize/report cardiac or neurologic changes promptly
• Document patient care and assessments accurately to meet standards of care
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary team members to support the patient�s longitudinal plan of care
• Participate in unit performance improvement and shared governance activities to improve patient outcomes
• Apply critical thinking to escalate safety concerns through the appropriate chain of command

Qualifications

• Current Illinois Registered Nurse (RN) license required
• BLS/CPR required
• ACLS required
• NIHSS certification required
• Extensive cardiac experience required
• Clinical experience in Medical-Surgical, Cardiac Telemetry, Stroke/Neuro or Step-Down settings required

Knowledge & Skills

• Strong knowledge of the nursing process and patient care planning
• Proficient in medication administration and clinical documentation
• Telemetry monitoring and cardiac rhythm recognition expertise
• Ability to collaborate effectively with interdisciplinary teams
• Excellent critical thinking with a focus on patient safety and escalation
• Familiarity with unit-based performance improvement and shared governance
