Roles & Responsibilities

• Assess, plan, implement and evaluate perioperative care for pre-op, intraoperative and PACU patients
• Serve as the Operating Room circulator to ensure patient safety, sterile field integrity and smooth workflow
• Provide on-call PACU coverage, monitoring patients after anesthesia and escalating care as needed
• Perform pre-operative assessments and prepare patients for surgery with compassion and clarity
• Deliver perioperative care for pediatric and adult patients with age-appropriate approaches
• Collaborate closely with surgeons, anesthetists and the surgical team to coordinate efficient, safe procedures
• Document patient care accurately in the medical record and support quality improvement efforts
• Respond to intraoperative and post-anesthesia events, supporting rapid, calm interventions

Qualifications

• Active RN license in Montana or a compact state (required)
• Minimum 2 years of RN experience (perioperative experience preferred)
• Current ACLS, PALS and BLS certifications (required)
• Experience as an OR Circulator and PACU coverage experience a strong plus
• Comfort and skill caring for pediatric and adult surgical patients
• Ability to participate in rotating on-call coverage and respond reliably

• Perioperative nursing principles (pre-op, OR, PACU)
• Operating Room circulation and sterile technique
• Post-anesthesia patient assessment and recovery care
• Pediatric perioperative care and age-appropriate communication
• Pre-operative assessment and patient education
• Strong clinical judgment, situational awareness and emergency response
• Clear communication and teamwork within surgical services
• Familiarity with electronic health records and accurate documentation
