Roles & Responsibilities
- Perform high-quality adult echocardiography studies including 2D and 3D imaging
- Conduct stress echos (treadmill and pharmacologic) and bubble studies as indicated
- Perform transesophageal echocardiograms (TEE) and vascular ultrasound exams
- Use color Doppler and contrast imaging agents to enhance diagnostic accuracy
- Operate and maintain ultrasound equipment from vendors like GE, Philips, Siemens, Hitachi, Toshiba, and SonoSite
- Document findings accurately in PACS and the facility charting system
- Apply quantitative calculations such as Simpson's Rule, diastology measures, LV strain/volume and PISA when required
- Provide compassionate, professional care to adult and geriatric patients and communicate results clearly to the care team
- Participate in scheduled weekend coverage and on-call rotations as required
Qualifications
- Minimum 1 year of experience in echocardiography and vascular ultrasound
- ARDMS, CCI RCS, and BLS certifications are preferred
- Experience with PACS and electronic charting systems required
- Comfortable performing TEE, stress echocardiography, bubble studies, and contrast imaging
- Familiarity with equipment from GE, Philips, Siemens, Hitachi, Toshiba, and SonoSite
- Able to work scheduled weekend coverage (every other) and be available for on-call shifts
- Travel/contract experience is a plus but not required
- Facility notes COVID-19 vaccine not required
Knowledge & Skills
- Proven skills in adult echocardiography: 2D, 3D, TEE, and stress echo
- Vascular ultrasound techniques and color Doppler proficiency
- Comfortable administering and imaging with contrast agents
- Strong PACS and charting system competency
- Ability to perform calculations: Simpson's Rule, diastology, LV strain and volume, PISA
- Experience with major ultrasound vendors and equipment troubleshooting
- Excellent patient communication and bedside manner for adult and geriatric patients
- Time management skills to handle an average of roughly 10 exams per shift
