Roles & Responsibilities
- Provide direct patient care under the direction of a Physical Therapist, delivering compassionate, evidence-based interventions
- Assist patients with therapeutic exercises, mobility training, gait training, and use of assistive devices
- Monitor and document patient progress accurately and timely in the medical record
- Educate patients and families on home exercise programs and safe functional techniques
- Collaborate with PTs, nursing staff, and interdisciplinary team members to coordinate high-quality care
- Contribute to discharge planning and recommendations to optimize patient outcomes
Qualifications
- Graduate of an accredited Physical Therapist Assistant program
- Licensed or eligible for PTA licensure in Washington (ability to obtain state license required prior to start)
- Current BLS/CPR certification
- Prior experience in outpatient, inpatient rehab, or post-acute settings preferred
- Strong communication skills and a patient-focused attitude
Education
- Associate degree from an accredited Physical Therapist Assistant program (required)
Knowledge & Skills
- Skilled in therapeutic exercise, transfers, and gait training
- Knowledgeable in safety, fall prevention, and assistive device training
- Proficient with documentation and charting best practices
- Able to work collaboratively within an interdisciplinary care team
- Good time management, organization, and patient education skills
