Roles & Responsibilities
- Provide compassionate, resident-centered nursing care in a long-term care setting
- Administer medications accurately and document medication records thoroughly
- Perform routine assessments and monitor changes in patient condition
- Assist with activities of daily living and support resident comfort and dignity
- Collaborate with nurses, therapists, and interdisciplinary team members to deliver coordinated care
- Maintain accurate clinical documentation and follow facility policies and infection control standards
- Communicate clearly and empathetically with residents and families, educating as needed
Qualifications
- Current LPN license in New Mexico, or eligible to obtain licensure prior to start
- Successful completion of an accredited LPN/LVN training program
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification, or willingness to obtain prior to start
- Comfort working in long-term care or skilled nursing environments, experience preferred
- Strong clinical judgment, dependable attendance, and a collaborative mindset
Education
- Completion of an accredited LPN/LVN program
- Vocational diploma or certificate in practical nursing
Knowledge & Skills
- Medication administration and accurate charting
- Clinical assessment and monitoring of vital signs
- Infection prevention and safe patient care practices
- Electronic medical record familiarity and documentation skills
- Clear communication, teamwork, and time management
- Ability to respond to changing patient needs with professionalism
