Roles & Responsibilities
- Evaluate patients’ functional abilities and develop individualized OT treatment plans
- Deliver evidence-based therapeutic interventions to improve daily living skills and independence
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary team members to coordinate patient-centered care
- Document patient progress clearly and timely in the electronic medical record
- Educate patients and families on adaptive strategies, equipment use, and home programs
- Recommend adaptive equipment and environmental modifications to maximize safety and function
- Participate in discharge planning to ensure smooth transitions and continuity of care
Qualifications
- Current California Occupational Therapy license (required)
- NBCOT certification or eligibility is preferred
- Experience in rehab or contract settings is a plus
- Strong documentation skills and familiarity with EMR workflows
- Active CPR/BLS certification as required by facility
Education
- Degree in Occupational Therapy (Bachelor’s, Master’s, or OTD as required for licensure)
Knowledge & Skills
- Skilled in ADL/IADL assessment and intervention
- Proficient in therapeutic modalities, splinting, and adaptive equipment recommendations
- Ability to create clear, measurable treatment goals
- Strong communication and teamwork skills for interdisciplinary care
- Comfortable with time management in a fast-paced rehab environment
