Roles & Responsibilities
- Provide compassionate, hands-on care to residents, focusing on dignity and respect
- Assist residents with activities of daily living such as bathing, dressing, grooming, and feeding
- Monitor residents for changes in condition and promptly report concerns to nursing staff
- Support mobility needs and safely assist with transfers and positioning
- Document resident care accurately and maintain clear communication with the care team and families
- Contribute to a warm, home-like environment and engage residents in social activities
Qualifications
- GNA (Geriatric Nursing Assistant) certification required
- Previous experience working with elderly or long-term care residents preferred
- Current CPR/BLS certification preferred or willing to obtain
- Ability to pass background check and required health screenings
- Strong communication skills and a team-oriented attitude
- Ability to perform physical aspects of the role, including lifting and standing for shifts
Education
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred
- GNA certification required
Knowledge & Skills
- Understanding of elderly care principles and resident-centered approaches
- Basic clinical skills: vital signs, ADL assistance, safe transfer techniques
- Good documentation and communication skills with nursing staff and families
- Friendliness, patience, and the ability to build rapport with residents
- Time management and the ability to prioritize resident needs during a busy shift
