Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide compassionate, hands-on care to residents, focusing on dignity and respect
• Assist residents with activities of daily living such as bathing, dressing, grooming, and feeding
• Monitor residents for changes in condition and promptly report concerns to nursing staff
• Support mobility needs and safely assist with transfers and positioning
• Document resident care accurately and maintain clear communication with the care team and families
• Contribute to a warm, home-like environment and engage residents in social activities

Qualifications

• GNA (Geriatric Nursing Assistant) certification required
• Previous experience working with elderly or long-term care residents preferred
• Current CPR/BLS certification preferred or willing to obtain
• Ability to pass background check and required health screenings
• Strong communication skills and a team-oriented attitude
• Ability to perform physical aspects of the role, including lifting and standing for shifts

Education

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred
• GNA certification required

Knowledge & Skills

• Understanding of elderly care principles and resident-centered approaches
• Basic clinical skills: vital signs, ADL assistance, safe transfer techniques
• Good documentation and communication skills with nursing staff and families
• Friendliness, patience, and the ability to build rapport with residents
• Time management and the ability to prioritize resident needs during a busy shift
