Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide compassionate, person-centered care to geriatric residents
• Assist residents with activities of daily living including bathing, dressing, and mobility
• Monitor and report changes in condition, including vital signs and behavior
• Document care accurately and timely in the resident chart
• Support fall prevention, safe transfers, and proper use of mobility aids
• Collaborate with nurses and interdisciplinary team members to deliver excellent care
• Promote dignity, independence, and meaningful engagement for each resident

Qualifications

• Current GNA certification or equivalent (per Maryland state requirements)
• CPR/BLS certification preferred or willingness to obtain
• Experience caring for older adults or in a long-term care setting is a strong plus
• Ability to pass background check and required health screenings
• Dependable, compassionate approach and strong teamwork skills

Education

• High school diploma or GED; completion of a GNA training program or equivalent

Knowledge & Skills

• Understanding of geriatric care principles and resident rights
• Safe patient handling and transfer techniques
• Infection control and proper use of PPE
• Basic vital signs monitoring and reporting
• Clear, respectful communication with residents, families, and care teams
• Good documentation habits and attention to detail
